The CRIEC, Colloquium of Research for Inter-Ecoles Centrales, is a research symposium involving young researchers from the group of Ecoles Centrale (Centrale Marseille, Centrale Lyon, Centrale Nantes, Centrale Lille and Centrale Supélec) and related institutes and laboratories. This year, Centrale Nantes hosts the event. The organization is held by PhD students with the help of the Research Department of Centrale Nantes. It will take place from 25th to 28th June 2018 on the site of Ecole Centrale, in Nantes.
It is a multidisciplinary symposium of young researchers that aims at promoting scientific exchanges between PhD students. These exchanges have several objectives : presenting the thesis work through oral or written presentation, connecting different research laboratories from all over France, creating future collaborations, expanding the spectrum of scientific skills, etc. This event allows students to put themselves in a professional situation for a week. Speaking and presenting the subject and results to a very large audience is an important training for a future professional integration.
Moving each year to a new region of France also makes it possible to enrich oneself from a cultural point of view and find a new interest through this program. A cultural approach is integrated into the program since half a day is devoted to the discovery of the city, the practice of sport activities and sharing a friendly moment around the local gastronomy. An industrial approach is also offered with the visit of some companies of the region.
